Music To My Ears
Rating: 3 5 3
This prequel short is basically a music video of Vinyl throughout her morning before school. The music sounds like what people think brony music sounds like being very generic dubstep. When I first watched this as a young brony, I noticed that the way the doors open into the cafe is actually illegal because doors have to open outwards to make it easier to escape from fire.

We see that American money is used when Vinyl pays for her food. Then Vinyl is late to class and Celestia steals her headphones but she has earbuds and just continues listening to her music. Also, I just realized she must have photophobia since she's allowed to wear sunglasses in school.
Music was generic so it gets 3 EV. 5 VB because Vinyl skirts the rules and has a way to keep listening to music even after her headphones are taken away. Reminds me of when I would sneak my phones into a place by wearing shorts backwards under my sweatpants and putting my phones in my shorts pockets. And because I refused to let them use a metal detector on me, I just had to turn my sweatpants pockets inside out and those oppressive fucks were none the wiser that I was sneaking two phones inside. 3 DV because nothing of interest happens in terms of development.
Guitar Centered
Rating: 3 3 4
We open seeing that Vinyl has a job at some music store. Normally, I would mention the mines but Vinyl's either 16 or 17 in the Equestria Girls world which are legal working ages in the US although most states require permits for people under 18 to work which should be fucking abolished. Deregulate child labor!
This short is about Rainbow Dash and Trixie arguing over who should get a certain guitar. Then they compete and Rainbow Dash transforms into pony form along with transforming the guitar she's using. Rainbow Dash wins but lets Trixie have the guitar which she can't buy because it costs $12,000.

Herobrine sighting #25
Not that interesting so 3 EV. 3 VB because there's nothing to vibe with. 4 DV because Rainbow Dash's guitar in this short is what she uses in the movie.
Hamstocalypse Now
Rating: 3 3 4
Rarity has to babysit hamsters while Fluttershy cleans their house thing and Fluttershy becomes a piper with her tambourine. There's a pretty funny animation bit in the background where one hamster proposes to another just to be rejected.
3 EV because it's not that entertaining. 3 VB because there's nothing to vibe with. 4 DV because it's Fluttershy's tambourine thing.
Pinkie On The One
Rating: 3 3 4
This one's about how Pinkie became the drummer. There is a shot of the cafeteria which you may think is them recycling that one shot yet again but I don't think they did this time as it lacks a lot of students from the recycled shot.
Not that interesting so 3 EV. Nothing to vibe with so 3 VB. Pinkie's drummer origin story so 4 DV.
Player Piano

Rarity manipulates boys to do labor for her because she's weak.
Nothing interesting so 3 EV. Nothing to vibe with so 3 VB. Rarity's keyboard guitar origin story so 4 DV.
A Case For The Base
Rating: 4 3 4
The first shot of this one is pretty trippy with how the camera is panning like it's in a 3D world when the animation is 2D. Granny Smith sold Applejack's bass and she has to get it back from the Flim Flam brothers' pawn shop. One time, I was trying to sell a bike to a pawn shop and I wanted I think $40 for it and they couldn't find the exact model it was so they just estimated its value on a model that looked similar and happened to be some expensive high-end model. They offered me $80 so obviously I took it. Later I tried to sell another bike to them and the fuckers offered me only $20 when I wanted $40. I declined the offer and sold it privately for $40.
4 EV because the Flim Flam brothers are pretty entertaining in this short. 3 VB because there's nothing to vibe with. 4 DV because it's Applejack's bass story.
Shake Your Tail!

Music video. My notes tell me to mention that liberals triggered 'cause there's tiki stuff. Cope and seethe, libtards. Cultural appropriation is magic!
Good song so 4 EV. Nothing to vibe with so 3 VB. No development so 3 DV.

My Past Is Not Today
Rating: 4 3 4
Okay, so this is a music video that a lot of people have a very personal connection to. Whether they see themselves in Sunset or whether they just really like her character, this seems to be one of those songs that would be worth 6 VB to many people. I however am not one of those people and I think I misinterpreted the meaning of the song for the past decade. So I always thought this was a song Sunset was singing for others to show them she's not the same as she used to be and she's changed to be a better person. That is until I was looking up people's thoughts on the song and why they find it important. I found a comment mentioning how the song is actually Sunset singing it to herself to move past the remorse she has for her past actions. Upon reading this, I realized I had been interpreting this song wrong all these years because I'm actually unable to feel remorse myself and the true meaning of this song went right over me. Now I wonder how many other things I've missed the point off because I can't feel remorse and judge my own actions based on external consequences as opposed to most people who literally feel positive or negative emotions based on their actions or reflections on them.
Song is alright so it gets 4 EV. Not really the kind of music I like though. Obviously this lacks vibe for me as already mentioned so it gets 3 VB. 4 DV because it shows Sunset's development as a character moving past her old self.
Friendship Through The Ages
Rating: 5 6 3
Now this is a song I can say personally resonates with me. The message is pretty much that things will change but friendship, true friendship will remain. The world will change, you will change, friends will change but friendship will always remain. I also think of this as applying to bronies themselves. We've been around for 14 years at this point, me being around for 10 and despite what changes, despite the show ending, despite a bunch people thinking we're nothing more than wackos obsessed with a cartoon for little girls, despite what challenges us, we still remain and plenty of us have sworn to never get off this wild ride.
Very good song so it gets 5 EV. 6 VB for the message as already described. 3 DV because there's no development.
